Acclaimed Academic and Professional Journey

The journey of Mr Umapathy is one marked by notable achievements and a relentless pursuit of excellence. His medical training began in India, followed by postgraduate training in the UK. In 1999, he was awarded the Fellowship in ENT surgery (FRCS ENT) by the Royal College of Surgeons, and in 2004, he earned the Fellowship in Otorhinolaryngology and Head & Neck Surgery (FRCS ORL-HNS). His expertise is recognised on the GMC’s Specialist Register since 2006. A Commitment Beyond Surgery

Mr Umapathy is not just a surgeon but a mentor, an educator, and a leader. His commitment to teaching is evident from his decade-long role as a trainer for higher specialist trainees in ENT. He holds additional qualifications in medical law (LLM), and in high impact leadership from the University of Cambridge and has recently completed MSc in pain management. His role extends to being an examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons and a significant contributor to the national selection of otolaryngology trainees in the UK. At Noble’s Hospital, he leads the ENT service, fostering a collaborative and effective healthcare environment.

In the operating theatre, Mr Umapathy exhibits remarkable skill in a wide range of procedures, catering to both children and adults. His surgical repertoire includes septoplasty, grommet insertion, tonsillectomy, FESS (Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery), myringoplasty and much more. However, it’s his attributes of kindness, consideration, and a passion for continuous learning that truly set him apart.

He approaches each case with respect, clarity, and honesty, empowering patients to make informed decisions about their health. Regularly seeking feedback, he continuously refines his practice to minimise errors and maximise patient care outcomes.
