Surgical Procedues

Mr Umapathy has extensive experience in several surgical procedures (both adults and children) including

Septoplasty

Operation on the midline partition of the nose to straighten the septum and improve the nasal obstruction.

Grommet insertion

Inserting a small ventilation tube in the middle ear to improve ventilation and hearing in glue ear

Adenoidectomy

Removing the adenoids to help with sleep apnea or persistent case of glue ear

Tonsillectomy

Removing tonsils to prevent recurrent sore throat or help with sleep apnea

FESS

Operation in the sinuses to remove nasal polyps or help with symptoms of nasal blockage in chronic sinusitis; sometimes facial pain may improve after FESS (functional endoscopic sinus surgery). It is an option for patients with chronic sinusitis who fail to respond to medical treatment

Nasal polypectomy

Removing nasal polyps and improving nasal obstruction

Vocal fold surgery

Any lesions may be removed; injection may be used to improve paralysis

Ear draining

Draining of any fluid from the middle ear

Myringoplasty

Repair of ear drum perforation by placing a fascia graft (from the temporalis muscle)

and several diagnostic endoscopic procedures such laryngoscopy. More details can be found here.
